How to Use Social Proof to Market Your Business

by Ford Saeks

Leverage Happy Customers and Clients to Get Even More Business!

Even if you’re not familiar with the specific term “social proof,” we see examples of social proof every day.  Whether you’re buying a new television or choosing a new doctor, most of us are more comfortable choosing a brand name we’re familiar with or using a service our family or friends like.

Social proof is a critical factor in influencing buying decisions, which means you can leverage social proof to establish trust and credibility for your products and services.

Take for example, how we were able to weave social proof in the form of testimonials and success stories into Bonnie Budzowski’s new website, www.InCredibleMessages.com.  As a nationally in-demand speaker and one-one-one writing coach, Bonnie had many testimonials and success stories from happy customers and clients.   That social proof is now prominently displayed on the homepage of her new website, in a section called “Successful Projects,” on all inside page sidebars and peppered throughout specific landing pages.

by Ford Saeks

Prime Concepts Social Media Marketing Services

interest is the hottest thing happening in social media, which is why you should be using Pinterest to market your business.

The “virtual pinboard” social media site has actually been around since 2008, but just between November and December of 2011, the site’s unique visitor count increased a staggering 55%!  Then in January of 2012, it crossed the 10 million mark, which was faster than any standalone site in history!

If you don’t know what Pinterest is already, imagine a large cork board on your kitchen wall where you’ve pinned photos, ideas, notes, thoughts, etc.  Now imagine that you have a large cork board for each of your interests and you have the ability to share those images and collaborate with as many people as you want, anywhere in the world.  That’s the power of Pinterest.

Have you claimed your business listings on Yelp.com?  What about the other opinion and ratings websites?  Do you have filters set up using www.Hootsuite.com to monitor keyword topics from Twitter?  You can use social media websites to listen to the buzz in the market place as it relates to your industry, the competition, your prospects wants, needs & desires, and your products and services.

Social Media offers so many benefits, but it can be a huge waste of time without the right plan and actions steps.
