by Ford Saeks

For the first episode of his new YouTube show, our CEO Ford Saeks focused on niche marketing and the questions, “How do I find my niche?” and “How do I market to my niche?” We love his explanation but thought you might also benefit from hearing some others’ perspectives on the topic. Here are a few of the most-watched videos on YouTube right now for niche marketing.

How to Increase Conversions Through Quality Landing Page Design

by Andrea Stang

Let’s follow the path of a typical consumer. You see an ad for a product on Facebook. It catches your interest, so you click. The transition is pretty smooth and now you see a landing page design that gradually gives you more and more information about the benefits of this product.

Within sixty seconds of hitting that page, you should have access to and be able to consume all the information you need to make a decision. The focus on the benefits—in the headline, the sub-headlines, and the bullet points—allows you to decide whether or not to take action. This page that leads you to one clear choice is called a landing page.

Auto Commercials are Where It’s at This Super Bowl

by Ford Saeks

Although there are important differences between marketing (what we do) and advertising, we’re just as excited as the next guy for this Sunday to roll around so we can check out all the new Super Bowl commercials.  Why?  Because the commercials have become as much of an attraction as the game itself, with companies spending as much as $4 million on just 30-seconds of ad time.

After taking a sneak peek at about 15 of this year’s Super Bowl commercials, we found that the auto commercials are where it’s gonna’ be this Sunday!  Which ones, specifically?  Check them out below:

Skyrocket Your Marketing Using Strategic Sloppiness

How “Strategic Sloppiness” Can Skyrocket Your Marketing

by Ford Saeks

A recent article by New York Magazine’s Kevin Roose has been circulating LinkedIn in the last week or two… and garnering quite a bit of attention.  Why?  For one thing, the (somewhat misleading) headline, “How Spelling Mistakes and Bad E-mail Etiquette Can Help You Get Ahead,” and image choice definitely grab your attention.  Second, the article opens with an anecdote about a hot news story: the first several email exchanges between Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and the 22-year-old co-founder of Snapchat, Evan Spiegel.

What interested us about the article was how the content can be applied to marketing, but let’s talk about the gist of the article first.  If you haven’t heard about the controversy regarding Zuckerberg and Spiegel, here’s the deal: Toward the end of December, Forbes released their annual “30 Under 30” listing of top “world changers.”  The list featured Spiegel, and Forbes included Spiegel’s account of his first round of communication with Zuckerberg in which Spiegel responded to Zuckerberg’s gushy November 2012 email about meeting with a casual response.  As many know, Zuckerberg has since offered to purchase Snapchat for $3 billion… and been turned down.

Are You Using Generational Marketing to Speak in Your Customer’s Language?

by Ford Saeks

Use generational marketing to speak in your customer's language

Take a good look at your marketing materials and website.  Does the language used sound formal, manufactured or “sales-y”?  If you answered “yes,” you’re far from alone, but you need to hear this: high-pressure sales messages and corporate-speak are out!  Straight talk and human language are in.

In today’s marketplace, the consumer base is dominated with Generation X-ers and Y-ers. They don’t want to spend time interpreting complicated, obscure messages. They want honesty, authenticity and transparency.

Don’t Overlook the Importance of Your Business Cards and Letterhead– First Impressions Last

by Ford Saeks

Have you ever been impressed with a colleague– until that moment they pull out their business card and…. EEEK!

Maybe the paper is cheap, flimsy or dogeared while the design is outdated or just downright awful.  You know you shouldn’t allow something so simple to completely change your first impression of them, but you can’t help it.

Ford often speaks to clients and audiences about “sales prevention tools.”  It’s a clever term he uses to describe “tools” that are actually getting in the way of attracting and converting prospects into long-term clients and customers.  That’s what happens when your marketing materials, website or social media are old, outdated, confusing, lack style, have poor marketing messages and simply don’t communicate the quality or value your business offers.  In other words, they don’t match your brand’s promise.

That was exactly the case with one of our recent clients, Donna Strickland.  Donna is a nationally acclaimed speaker and organizational development consultant with a list of credentials you wouldn’t believe– but you’d never know it from her 1980s-esque marketing materials, ancient website and complete lack of social media presence.  Of course, we helped Donna to completely revamp her website and social media presence, but we certainly didn’t overlook her marketing materials, including her business cards and letterhead.

Donna’s business cards and letterhead are now aligned with her website and social media profiles, and each of these is now congruent with the quality and value Donna offers.  Let us know what you think of Donna’s new business cards and letterhead, and don’t forget to check out her revamped website– www.DonnaStrickland.com.

Remember– Prime Concepts offers complimentary critiques, so contact us directly if you’d like us to evaluate your marketing materials, website or social media presence.

Referrals… Sure, Because Your Website Sucks!

by Ford Saeks

Do Your Marketing Materials, Website and Social Media Match Your Brand’s Promise?

I was talking to a prospect today raving about how he’s built his business through mainly referrals… but now his business has slowed and he wants help.

One look at his website and social media profiles and it was clear why referrals are what has driven his business… because his other promotional efforts lack his brand’s promise.

By that, I mean., they are old, outdated, confusing, lack style, have poor marketing messages and simply don’t communicate the quality or value that his business truly offers.

In short, they are “sales prevention tools” getting in the way of attracting and converting prospects into long-term clients and customers.  They are certainly costing him thousands of dollars in lost sales.

Does that scenario sound familiar? Want to know how to solve these problems?

Tips For Successful Trade Show Exhibits

by Ford Saeks

The other day I posted a blog on choosing the best trade show for your business. If you haven’t yet, you should check it out before you continue with this post.

Once you’ve chosen the right trade show for your business, there are several things you must do before and during the show to ensure it’s a success.

Trade Show Marketing
There is a lot of marketing you can do before a show to get your target audience to come to your booth. Then, once you are there, take advantage of any opportunity you have to expand your reach outside your booth so you can help the visitors find you. In all of your trade show marketing material, both pre-show and during the show, you need to have the proper graphics and the proper copy and make it all congruent so people can easily identify you and your brand.
