Three Tips for How to Market a Venue Effectively

Local Spotlight: Pat Peppard’s Loft at 420

From time to time we like to showcase a current or recent client, but this particular client is especially near and dear to our heart because she and her amazing event venue are right here in Wichita, KS!

Pat Peppard, the owner of the Loft at 420 in downtown Wichita, came to us several months ago in need of a website. As a local event venue owner, she knew she needed a strong web presence in order to attract new clients through the web.

How to Market a Venue Effectively

Through the course of her project, we focused on three main objectives. Basically, they could be summarized as three tips for how to market a venue effectively.

1.)  Location, location, location!

One of the most important things a meeting planner needs to know immediately is where the venue is located. In The Loft’s case, it has a great location in Wichita’s brick-lined art district, which is within the downtown area and a block away from the Intrust Bank Arena. The central location is appealing for both corporate functions and private parties.

To showcase this premiere location, we included the location in the tagline at the top of the website and included a map graphic on the homepage and in the sidebar of all interior pages.

2.)  Social proof

Although true of anything you’re trying to market, social proof is especially important in marketing an event venue. Prospective clients want to hear what other clients have thought of the venue, as well as how it was received by guests.

To showcase testimonials for The Loft and Pat, we included “Testimonials” in the main navigation and showcased rotating testimonials on all inside pages.

3.)  The Unique Selling Proposition

Another important factor meeting planners want to know is how your venue is unique compared the competition. In other words, how can you help make them the star for choosing your venue?

This was probably the easiest tip to execute when it came to Pat’s venue. The Loft at 420 is bursting with character and charm, complete with exposed brick walls, beautiful wood floors and tall ceilings. Best yet, Pat personally ensures each event is perfect, right down to the table decorations.
